Hera of HERAKUT's "tHERApy room 2."

Opening on April 22nd, 2023 at Corey Helford Gallery in Los Angeles, California is artist Hera of acclaimed artistic duo HERAKUT's solo exhibition, "tHERApy room 2."

Hera, also known as Jasmin Siddiqui, merges her talents as a graffiti artist, illustrator, poet, and storyteller to craft fluid figures using elegant and chaotic lines and brushstrokes. Her artwork often comments on the human condition and childhood experiences.

Reflecting on her 23-year journey with spray paint, Hera acknowledges the medium's profound impact on her life, allowing her to develop her own visual language. She continues to create messages and big-eyed figures, addressing her inner child and offering encouragement, hope, magic, and escapism. Each piece can be seen as a therapy session, with Hera as both therapist and patient, exploring her own identity beneath the metaphorical hats and masks.

Previously part of the renowned street and fine art duo HERAKUT, Hera's work contributed to the evolution of muralism alongside her partner, AKUT. As Juxtapoz noted last fall, HERA's solo career showcases her veteran status and individuality in street art, solidifying her as a trailblazer in the movement.

Corey Helford Gallery presents ’Hera We Go Again’, a solo art exhibition by Hera (Jasmin Siddiqui), one half of the internationally acclaimed German artist duo HERAKUT.

Opening night is on Saturday November 6 from 12-6pm PT in the Main Gallery, open to the public for viewing the art safely with Covid precautions, at Corey Helford Gallery, 571 S. Anderson St. Los Angeles, CA 90033 and on the Corey Helford Gallery website until December 11 2021.

Hera’s “Hera We Go Again.”

Opening on November 6th, 2021 at Corey Helford Gallery in Los Angeles, California is artist Hera’s solo exhibition, “Hera We Go Again.”

One half of the internationally acclaimed artist duo HERAKUT, Hera combines her graffiti artist, illustrator, poet, and storyteller skills to create fluid figures with simultaneously elegant and chaotic lines and brushstrokes. Her work is often a statement on the human condition and experiences of childhood.

Regarding her new series, the artist shares, “My affiliation is always with those who create beauty in the darkest of places. Because the gutter feels closer to my creative home than the artist studio. I come from graffiti culture. I used to be the vulture, the raccoon, the street rat, that rummaged through leftover paint buckets left on the curbs of home renovations, treasuring other people’s trash.”

“Aller Anfang ist schwer.” In Frankfurt Bockenheim direkt neben dem Programmkino Orfeos Erben findet ihr die Bonifatius Schule und ein paar ältere Werke bekannter Graffiti-Künstler. Must admit... I can’t wait to get back to do some work in my studio.
